Co-founder and director of stewardship, community outreach for Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams joins Measurement Resources’ leadership team to help move social sector organizations’ missions forward.
Columbus, OH (February 16, 2022) — Charly Bauer has been selected as Measurement Resources Company’s first executive director to serve on the company’s leadership team. In this role at the for-profit dedicated to helping social sector organizations use data to change actions, outcomes, and lives, Mr. Bauer will be responsible for deepening relationships with clients, strengthening collaborations in the social impact community, and overseeing day-to-day operations.
Since 2002, Mr. Bauer has served as co-founder of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams (Jeni’s), where he supported the growth of the company from one to 58 scoop shops in 16 cities. He also led the organization through the process of becoming a Certified B Corporation in 2013, and has helped Jeni’s maintain its certification since that time. Throughout his 20 years with Jeni’s, Mr. Bauer held nearly every job in the company. He is stepping down from his current role as director of stewardship, community outreach, after having created the company’s philanthropy program.

In addition to his two decades as an entrepreneur, Mr. Bauer also brings social sector leadership experience to his role at Measurement Resources. He currently serves on the boards of nonprofits BuddyUp for Life and Besa, and has previously served on the boards of Leadership Columbus, Upper Arlington Education Foundation, the Short North Alliance, and the North Market Development Authority, where Jeni’s had its first retail location.
Prior to Jeni’s, Mr. Bauer served as a product manager at Dublin, Ohio-based OCLC, Inc., the global library technology and research organization. He managed new product development for the global organization’s member libraries, museums, and academic institutions, leading cross-functional projects for OCLC’s WorldCat, FirstSearch, and its Office of Research.

Since 2008, Measurement Resources has significantly expanded the number and geographic reach of its client base. Then in 2018, Sheri Chaney Jones launched a second venture, SureImpact, Inc. By expanding Measurement Resources’ leadership team to include Mr. Bauer, Ms. Jones will be devoting more time to developing and scaling SureImpact, the cloud-based data collection and reporting solution that empowers mission-driven organizations to more easily track, manage, and communicate their unique social impact.
Mr. Bauer holds a Master of Science in Information Science from The University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and received his Bachelor of Science in mathematics from The University of Kansas. He also spent time as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching secondary school math and science in Malawi, Africa.
