Employee Spotlight of the Month: Cailynn Fox

This month, Measurement Resources (MRC) is excited to highlight Cailynn Fox, our Research Assistant. Cailynn plays a key role in our team’s success. Her collaborative approach and strong communication bring structure to our projects, ensuring that everything is aligned with our partner’s needs. She is a kind and calm presence, always ready to offer support and contribute wherever needed.

Cailynn joined MRC in 2022. As our Research Assistant she manages and conducts qualitative and quantitative data collection and analyses on behalf of a wide range of nonprofit and government clients. Her skills combine qualitative data collection and analysis with extensive secondary research, helping our partners understand the various factors influencing their organizations’ ability to drive social change and impact the communities they serve. Cailynn works collaboratively with the research team on many tasks such as survey development and implementation, preparing data tables, and creating reports.

Prior to joining MRC Cailynn was a Fellow through The Columbus Foundation, where she worked with Ohio Humanities. There she worked directly with donors, sharing the mission of the organization in order to develop a supporter base and build capacity through donations. She also played a key role in planning sponsored screening events to share Ohio’s stories and fulfill the mission of the organization.

A part of Cailynn’s role as a research assistant involves serving on the Fractional Performance Management team for nonprofit clients. She supports our partners reporting requirements and evolving fundraising initiatives. She also facilitates interviews/focus groups, prepares evaluation plans, and analyzes data to meet their needs.

Cailynn is currently supporting our partners at Families Flourish and Art Possible, among others. Families Flourish is a nonprofit founded and based in central Ohio. Their mission is to empower families by addressing their comprehensive needs over a transformative 3-year period. This approach seeks to reverse historical barriers and promote inclusivity, equality, and better access to essential services such as housing, education, and overall family wellness. Their results show 58%/$17,000 average increased income, 100+-point higher credit scores, health and wellness improvements, and kids thriving at grade level and above in their schools. Learn more about their program model here.

Art Possible Ohio is a nonprofit organization founded in 1986. They work with artists of all ages who have disabilities to advocate for accessibility and inclusivity, advance careers in the creative sector, build community, and improve the academic achievement of Ohio’s students through arts integration. By bridging arts and disability, their programs and services promote inclusive spaces and accessible opportunities for Ohioans. Some of their services include professional development, workshops, and creative careers & artist grants.

A day in the life of Cailynn always starts with a cup of coffee to fuel the day ahead. She then checks her emails and urgent actions and writes up a to-do list to plan out her day around scheduled meetings. Throughout the day, Cailynn focuses on completing the tasks on her list, which often includes data quality control, conducting interviews & focus groups, other qualitative research, drafting proposals, facilitation recruitment, measurement frameworks, and impact evaluations.

Outside of work, Cailynn loves reading, particularly science fiction, historical fiction, and literary fiction. Hiking is another favorite pastime, with High Banks being her go-to metro park for a peaceful escape into nature. When she’s with her family, Cailynn enjoys playing card games or video games. She also enjoys spending time with her friends, trying new restaurants, as well as traveling to new places.
